How To Make Tanghulu Like A Pro

Can I use another fruit?
Yes! Tangulu can be made with any fruit of your choice. Some commonly used fruits to make Tanghulu consist of: strawberries, grapes, tangerines, muscat, pineapples, and mangoes.

Ingredients

- Fruit of your choice 4 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups ice cold water
- Skewers
- Thermometer (optional)
  

Directions

  1. Wash the fruit of choice and make sure it is thoroughly dry before continuing. 
  2. Arrange the fruits on a skewer and set it aside. 
  3. In a medium-sized saucepan, add your sugar and water. Let it boil over medium heat.
      •  temperature should reach 300°F/150°C (5-10 minutes). 
      • if you don’t have a thermometer, dip a dry spoon into the sugar mixture and into the ice water. If hardened, mixture is ready.
  4. Dip your fruit skewer into the sugar - coat evenly. Then put it in the ice water and allow the syrup to harden (should harden immediately).
  5. Ready to be served and devoured.
